Betty Richey

Richey, Betty, "Gunner" age 92 of Germantown passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Hillspring of Springboro surrounded by family.  She was born in Germantown, OH to the late Ervin and Lottie May (Schaeffer) Bailey.  During WWII she worked for Harris Seabold, she also worked for Dr. Berger’s office in 1946 and later worked as a waitress at the Downtowner Restaurant.  In her later years, she loved playing cards and was one of the original members of the Germantown Senior Center.  Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters, and her husband of 46 years, Elvin Lee Richey in 1986.  She is survived by her daughters Betsy Mitchell and Rilda (Philip) Thomas, her grandchildren Stephanie (Luis Angel) Torres, Ransford (Patty Zullo) Mitchell II, Vangie (Zach) McCloskey, Renee (Chris) Dale, and Theresa (Steve) Mynes, her great grandchildren Thea Coleman, Morgan (Brandon) Bridges, Joseph McCloskey, Skylar McCloskey, and Donovan Marsh and one sister, Delores.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 12:00PM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N Main St.  Germantown with Ted Landis officiating.  Interment immediately following at Germantown Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00am on Saturday.
