Charles "Shelt" Burke

Charles Shelton Burke "Shelt", age 54 of Franklin, OH passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2022 surrounded by his family at The Laurels of Hamilton where he resided for the past 4 years. He was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Charles Burke and Patricia (Roth) Burke and attended Franklin High School class of 1986. Shelt liked having a good time, when he was younger he enjoyed playing cards, darts, pool, gambling and dancing but most of all, he loved watching the Cincinnati Bengals. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Vince and Arthur Burke. He is survived by his brothers Patrick (Linda) Burke, Clifton Burke, sisters Charlene (Danny) Pennington, Christina (Everett) Williams, and Bonita (Gary) Madden, step-father Junior Woods, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown OH 45327. Funeral services be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 1:00pm at the funeral home, with burial immediately following at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, OH. The family would like to thank Affinity Care of Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Shelt over the past year.
