Charles Horton

Horton, Charles D. “Don”, age 86 of Hawkins, TX passed away November 17, 2016.  He was born in Campton, KY to the late Bufford and Minnie (Patent) Hawkins.  In 1948 he married Sarah Perugini and built his family of 7 children.  He retired from American Motors Corp in 1977 after 30 years and then went on to work at Big Bone Lick State Park in Union, KY.  Don had a passion for his “furry friends” (dogs) and loved to travel the states visiting friends, fishing and boating on the Ohio River, as well as riding his motorcycle.  Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 5 children and a cousin, Bill.  He is survived by 2 sons David (Kelly) Horton and Michael Horton, 17 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N Main St.  Germantown, OH, interment immediately following at Highland Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00am.
