Darryl Friend

Darryl L. Friend, age 81 of Farmersville, OH passed away peacefully at Kettering Hospital Dayton on March 31, 2024. He was born in Dayton, OH to the late Clifford and Katherine (Keller) Friend. Darryl worked as a truck driver most of his life and was well loved in the Farmersville and Germantown community. He attended Germantown Methodist Church as well as Gratis United Methodist Church. Darryl sang at more funerals that one could count and he would always sing a cappella, typically at the graveside at the end of a service. Darryl is survived by many cousins, extended friends and church family who will miss him dearly. In honor of Darryl, there will be a celebration of life on Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at 2:30PM at the Germantown Methodist Church, 525 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, OH where pastors Gary Wheeler, Gary Wood, and Andy Powell will share in the officiating and of course, plenty of singing in memory of Darryl. Darryl will be laid to rest privately at Germantown Union Cemetery.
