David Coffey, Sr.

David Franklin Coffey Sr., a resident of Germantown, OH, joined that great cloud of witnesses on November 25, 2024, at the age of 69. He was born on October 8, 1955, to the late Kenneth and Henrietta Coffey of Franklin, Ohio. David was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Gretchen, and his children, Christina Keister and her husband Jeremy, and David Coffey Jr. and his wife Kristine. David, a proud grandfather, also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Kyle, Jayden, Lily, Harper, Elowen, Everett, David Ruckus, and Zion. He also leaves behind four brothers, Kenneth (Leslie), Stephen, Philip (Tammi), and Robert (Brenda), and one sister, Kim, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

"Beano" was a member of the Ironworkers Local 290, and a skilled painter and builder. His life was marked by his dedication to his family and his passion for fishing (much better than his brother, Philip), guns, knives, and music. He also loved telling outlandish stories, cooking way too much food for his family, defeating his son in Jeopardy, being bossed around by his daughter, and vacationing at the beach or in the mountains. He is preceded in death by his beloved tomato plants, and survived by a plethora of pepper plants and throngs of neighborhood squirrels and cats, surely rejoicing at his demise.

His humor and generosity touched the lives of many and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Services will be held at Abundant Life Tabernacle on Monday December 2, 2024 beginning at 1:00pm with James Setser officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, OH.
