McDonnell, David R, age 58 passed away on November 26, 2017 at his home. He was born in Dayton, OH to the late Ronald and Lucille (Coffman) McDonnell, Jr., and graduated from Centerville High School in 1978. David attended St. John’s U.C.C. in Germantown, and was an avid collector of antique trucks and construction equipment. David spent many years working for Wells Fargo Alarm Services and retired as a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Buckeye Vintage Haulers Chapter of American Truck Historical Society (ATHS), Antique Truck Club of America (ATCA), Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club (ACMOC) and the National Pike Steam, Gas & Horse Association. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy (Christman) McDonnell and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday December 4, 2017 at 11:00am at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown, with Pastor Laureen Roe officiating. Interment immediately following at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 3 from 3-5PM. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Hospice of Dayton, the Buckeye Vintage Haulers, or the National Pike Steam, Gas & Horse Association.
