Delmar Lakes

Delmar H. Lakes, age 93 of Germantown, OH passed away peacefully on May 9, 2024 in North Carolina. Delmar was born in Germantown, OH on November 23, 1930 to the late John and Sarah (Knight) Lakes, was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corp, and retired from the Dupps Company after 25 years. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Germantown, enjoyed playing euchre, traveling and had an intense love for his family. Delmar also hand crafted walking sticks and canes for his family and friends as a labor of love, enjoyed eating sweets and would always say "such is life". Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Carolyn Maxine (Curtner) Lakes, his daughter in law Flo (Hollenbaugh) Lakes, his grandson Aaron Lakes, his brothers Edward, Paul, Richard, and Russell Lakes, and his sister Mary (Lakes) Magness. He is survived by his children Terry Lakes, Tresa (Scott Halsey) Lakes-Halsey, Thomas (Kelly) Lakes, and John (Tara) Lakes, his grandchildren Carrie (Scott) Weidle, Tiffani (Ben) Karacia, Cameron (Krista) Powell, Isaac Lakes, Libby (TJ) Smith, Jazmine (Jon) Byers, Lukas Lakes, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 10am-12pm at the First Baptist Church of Germantown, 79 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, OH. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 with Pastor Carl Carmack officiating, burial immediately following at Germantown Union Cemetery.
