Eva Jane Emrick

Eva Jane Emrick, 91, of Farmersville, Ohio, left us peacefully on April 5 surrounded by the love of her family. A beloved mother and grandmother, Eva Jane, or Jane, will always be remembered for her patience, her kindness, her understanding and simply her way of being. A woman of country elegance that placed integrity, honesty and practicality at the forefront of all her endeavors.

Born on October 27, 1933, in German Township, Ohio Jane grew up the second of four children born to Walter Edwin Phillabaum and Eva Gertrude Phillabaum (Salyer). A rambunctious child, it was not out of the ordinary to find a young Jane lounging on the branch of a tree just outside the family home in Germantown or even possibly scaling the town's water tower.

Jane found love at a young age and on July 31, 1949, married Sonny Gene Emrick, also from Germantown. The two of them would enjoy more than a half century of shared loyalty, devotion and appreciation.

Jane's passing is a significant loss to all that loved and knew her. A loss that is only surpassed by the gain of knowing her and loving her while she was still with us. Her family takes solace in knowing she is now in the kingdom of her Lord and reunited with so many loved ones that departed before her.

Eva Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny, her older brother Walter (Ned), her younger brother George (Pete) and many other family members and friends that she held near to her heart. She is survived by her dear younger sister Sally as well as her brother-in-law Doug and his wife Mary. She is also survived by her three children, Stephen, Elizabeth and Lisa as well as her beloved sons-in-law Ed and Steve. Jane was fiercely proud of her seven grandchildren Amanda, Brian, Mitchell, Steven, Jay, Clayton and Houston as well as her fifteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

An intimate graveside service will be held at Germantown Union Cemetery for family and close friends at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025. Prayer services will be conducted by Pastor Jon from St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Farmersville.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Farmersville Fire Association in Jane's name.
