Evelyn Melampy

Evelyn C. Melampy,  age 99 of Germantown passed away Wednesday August 6, 2014 at Astoria Health and Rehab Center in Germantown. She would have celebrated her 100th  birthday   on August 9, 2014.  Evelyn was born in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Estee(Flynn) Poindexter. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ and  was retired from Good Samaritan Hospital where she was an L.P.N. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Willard Joseph and two sons, Raymond and Willard James Melampy,  sister Rosemary Davis. She is survived by sons Russell Lee of Dayton, Harold E. ( Sue) of Germantown, daughter Phyllis Carpenter of Germantown , brother Eugene Poindexter,   15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday August 11, 2014 11:00 a.m. at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home Germantown with Chaplain Jim Hopkins officiating. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00a.m. until the  time of service  at the funeral home.
