George "Sonny" Heeter

George "Sonny" Heeter, age 87 of Carlisle, OH went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2022. He was born in Liberty, OH to the late George and Kathryn Heeter. Sonny graduated from Jefferson High School, class of 1953 and was a veteran of the US Army. He retired from GM after 38 years in skilled trade and taught Sunday School for many years. His favorite places to be were on the lake "Bass" fishing, on the golf course or in Tennessee. He was a proud and loving husband, father, and grand "paw" whose greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh, as he called it "cutting up". He always went out of his way to help others and his caring spirit and generous heart was felt by anyone he came into contact with. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Steve Heeter. Sonny is survived by his High School Sweetheart and wife of 65 years, Betty Heeter, daughter Tanya (Ronnie) Tabor, grandchildren Ryan Tabor, Shawn Heeter, Jordan (Alex) Larison, great grandson Landon Larison and his sister Barb Allen, numerous extended family members and dear friends. There will be a private burial at Holp Cemetery in Farmersville for the family.
