Immel, Hattie (Garner), age 107 of Germantown, OH passed away January 19, 2018 at Astoria Health and Rehab. She was born July 24, 1910 to the late Edward and Mary Garner, graduated from Reily School of Butler County, and from Miami University of Oxford in 1932 with a degree in Home Economics. Hattie retired from Germantown Schools, was an active member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church where she taught sunday school, was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader and involved in many other clubs, she was especially proud of her membership in the Audobon Society and loved telling stories about crawling through brush to get a glimpse of a special bird. She always looked forward to spring when she could plant her garden, tend the flowers, and feed her birds. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Arthur and her brother Harry. She is survived by her nephew Dale (Marilyn) Garner, great nephew James (Luann) Garner, great nieces Susan (Julian) Parsons and Rebecca Rouse, great great nephew Austin Garner, and very close family friend Roxanne Storer. The family would like to thank all who knew her for your care and help while she was at home and at Astoria Rehab, also to the staff at Astoria Rehab and Miami Valley Hospice. Funeral services will be Wednesday January 24, 2018 at 12:00PM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown. Interment following at Germantown Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Astoria Health and Rehab, or Hospice of Miami Valley.
