JoAnn Donson, a beloved member of the community and a remarkable woman, passed away on August 6, 2023 at Carlisle Manor. She was born on August 21, 1938, and lived a life filled with love, dedication, and generosity.

JoAnn had a diverse career that showcased her hard work and commitment to service. She began her professional journey as a school bus driver for Valley View Schools, ensuring the safe transportation of countless children. Later, she worked at Atlas Diecast before eventually retiring from Dayton Progress. JoAnn's dedication and unwavering work ethic were evident in every role she undertook.

JoAnn graduated from Lanier High School, and was a member of the Germantown First Church of God. Her faith served as a guiding light throughout her journey. Above all else, JoAnn was devoted to her four loving boys. Raising them to become kindhearted individuals was her greatest accomplishment. Her maternal love knew no bounds and extended to all her family members. JoAnn cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and placed great importance on creating lasting memories.

Being generous and giving were integral parts of JoAnn's character. She had a profound impact on the lives of those around her through acts of kindness big and small. Her selflessness touched many hearts and will always be remembered.

JoAnn will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family and friends. She is survived by her sons Jeff (Annie) Donson, Greg (Carol) Donson, Tom Donson, and Doug Donson. The bond she shared with her grandchildren was immeasurable: Rachel (Bobby) Thomason, Taylor (William) Heistand, Megan (Cory) Hart, Katie (Clint) Pearson, Kea (Kris) Hogg, Lucas (Samantha) Donson, Jordan (Kate) Donson, Chelsea (Jason) Barres, Ashley Donson, and Kyle Donson as well as 27 great grandchildren. Their lives were enriched by her love and affection.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary (Toops) Leinbach, her brother Charles Leinbach, and her previous husband Eugene Donson, Jr.

A visitation will be held on August 12, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Arpp, Root, Carter Funeral Home located at 29 N. Main Street in Germantown. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM, burial immediately following at Preble Memory Gardens in West Alexandria at 1:00 PM.

JoAnn will forever be remembered for her love, kindness, and unwavering devotion. Her legacy of selflessness and compassion will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we mourn the loss of this remarkable woman, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the profound impact she had on our lives. Rest in peace, dear JoAnn.
