John Lynn "Woodstock" Woodard made his final "Weather Stalker" sign-off on October 28th, 2023, at home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born on February 24th, 1950 to the late Kenneth and Mildred "Betty" Woodard in Dayton, Ohio.
Although he began his academic career in the Springboro school system, he graduated from Germantown High School in 1968. Lynn was voted "Most Talented" his senior year by his peers. He was an accomplished musician - playing guitar, piano, and organ. He was a member of "The Oxford Road Band" and played piano/organ at weddings. Over the years, Lynn was employed at Atlas Die Cast, the Dupps Company, and G.E. He and his wife, Amee, also owned and operated A&L's Pizza in Germantown. He retired from HP.
An avid bird watcher, Lynn liked to spend time tending to his bird feeders and spending time at the Germantown Dam, especially at Sunfish Pond. He and Amee also enjoyed camping, most notably at Lake Loramie State Park. Lynn was a former member of the Germantown Lions Club, the Germantown Eagles, a founding memeber of the Twin Creek Preservation Society which sponsored canoe races on Twin Creek, and was one of the last survivors of the (in)famous Germantown Pig Roasters Crew. He was also a board member for the "Old Hippies of Germantown". Lynn was a member of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, where he helped prepare and serve the church's monthly Hungry Heart meals.
Along with his parents, Lynn was proceeded in death by his brother, Mark Allen Woodard. Lynn is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 38 years, Amee. Together, he and Amee shared six children; Jordan (Brenda) McCloskey, Zach (Vangie) McCloskey, Mescal (Brandon) Powell, Sage (Ray) Southers, Drew (Erica) Woodard, and John Paul (Maci) Woodard, and his favorite son Johnny Schaeffer. Lynn is also survived by two brothers, Ken (Lou) and Tim Woodard, as well as 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and a host of other cherished family members and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 from 1pm to 2pm at the Arpp, Root & Carter Funeral Home 29 N Main St, Germantown, OH 45327. The memorial service will begin at 2pm at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Old Hippies of Germantown" in Woodstock's memory.
