It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jonnie "Jon" Garner, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at UC Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born on July 30, 1948, in Dayton, OH, to the late Clayton and Irene (Barker) Garner, graduated from Germantown High School, class of 1966 and was a member of Germantown Methodist Church. Jon was a paramedic for the Germantown Rescue Squad for over 20 years, and retired from Armco Material Sciences. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and loved being part of the "View Crew" where he rarely missed a Valley View football or basketball game. Jon was known for his playful and teasing spirit that brought laughter to all who knew him.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Garner and his sister Sue Lewis. Jon leaves behind his beloved daughter, Beth (Patrick) Dickey, and son Jonathan (Mary) Garner to cherish his memory. Also by his grandchildren whom he loved deeply and supported all of their extra-curriculars, Clayton and Evan Garner and Drew and Kaitlyn Dickey. Known for his sense of humor and his knack for giving people a hard time, Jon will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
