Joyce Boomershine

Joyce A. Boomershine, age 85 of Farmersville, OH passed away peacefully at Sycamore Glen on September 19, 2022. She was born in Dayton, OH to the late Frank and Katharine (Loy) Penrod and graduated from Farmersville High School class of 1954. Joyce loved playing the piano and was a longtime member at Slifers Presbyterian Church where she played the piano and was also the church secretary for over 30 years. Although Joyce enjoyed playing the piano, her true passion was being a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Joyce and her late husband, Larry enjoyed traveling in their RV and spending time in Florida. Joyce is survived by her children Bradley (Debby) Boomershine, Amy (Mark) Cline, Annette (Randy) Dwire, grandchildren Justin (Stacy) Cline, Zachary (Lindsey) Cline, Hillary (Steven) Dursch, Heather (Brigham Turner) Dwire, great grandchildren Ethan, Greyson, Lila, Piper, Miller and Maisley Cline, and Vaeda Dursch, as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at Sycamore Glen Retirement Community and Hospice of Dayton for their exceptional care of their mother over the past 2 years. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 2-4pm at Slifers Presbyterian Church, 2999 S Clayton Rd. Farmersville. A memorial service will begin at 4:00PM with Rev. Shelley Wiley officiating. Burial will be private at Holp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Farmersville Fire and Rescue, JDRF, Slifers Church, or the charity of your choice.
