Karen Jirka

Jirka, Karen M., age 60 of Germantown, OH, formerly of New Windsor, MD passed away peacefully on January 21, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Elmer and Cordelia (Snyder) Goldhammer. She enjoyed bike riding, shopping, cruising around in here jeep, she loved her dogs and especially her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Goldhammer. She is survived by her husband Glenn Jirka and her daughters Jennifer (Travis) Eyler of Waynesboro, PA, Christina Tarr (Kevin Peters) of Westminster, MD, Tricia Tarr (Clint Sparkman) of Keymar, MD, her sons Noah Jirka and Killian Jirka both of Germantown, OH, 7 grandchildren, her sisters June Antenberg, Nikki Friedel, and Rita Bassler as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. There will be a memorial service on February 8th from 4:30-7:30PM at Elias Lutheran Church, 100 W North Ave., Emmitsburg, MD with pastor Jon R. Greenstone officiating.  Following the service there will be refreshments and fellowship at the church.
