Kirk E. Hogg, a cherished member of the Germantown community, passed away on March 26, 2025, at UC Medical Center after a courageous three-year battle with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Born on July 30, 1960, in Dayton, OH, Kirk was a dedicated individual whose contributions were felt both in his family and in his professional life.
For nearly 40 years, Kirk owned and operated KEH Construction, earning a reputation as an exceptional builder and contractor. Driven by the responsibility of providing for his large family, Kirk dedicated years to honing his craft, accumulating a wealth of experience along the way. His mastery of technical skills and deep well of knowledge earned him a distinguished reputation in the industry, where peers often spoke of him not merely as a contractor, but a 'craftsman'. Given his profound knowledge of construction and the ability to understand how things worked, he was always fixing something for someone, and commonly called “Mr. Fix It,” because it wasn't broken until he said it was broken. Kirk’s hands were not just skilled in construction, but he also embraced numerous hobbies that brought him joy, including restoring classic cars, woodworking, and spending time with his family at their Dale Hollow Lake house.
A graduate of Miamisburg High School and Montgomery County JVS, class of 1978, Kirk carried the values of hard work and dedication into his career. He is remembered for his quiet demeanor and a collection of fond nicknames, among them MacGyver, Cannonball Kirk, Captain Kirk and, most affectionately, Gramps.
Kirk is survived by his wife of nearly 44 years, Tammy (Call) Hogg, they began dating in 1974 and were together for 50 years, he was proud that they were high school sweethearts, he is also survived by their children Kristopher (Kea) Hogg, Kelly (Kelli) Hogg, Katy Hogg, and Kevin (Karolyn) Hogg. His beloved mother, MaryKay Hogg, two sisters, Christy Ogan and Laura Clark, and sister-in-law Suzy (Ed) Mowery. Kirk was especially proud of his grandchildren, Klaire, Klayton, Kollin Hogg, Callum (middle name Kirk), Norman Hogg, and Quinn Hogg. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members, along with his dog Buddy and grand dogs, Lyla, Felix, and Khloe.
Kirk was preceded in death by his father, Donald Hogg, and sister, Donna Hogg. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless memories that will warm the hearts of all who knew him.
His family would like to recognize and thank the many compassionate nurses at UC's Blood Cancer Healing Center. Kirk was deeply grateful not only for their exceptional care but also for the kindness and love they showed him. Michaela, Erica, Anna, Kristin, Tonya, Emily, Cam, Lori, Christine, Abigail, and so many others were more than nurses—they were true angels on earth.
Friends and family will gather to honor Kirk’s life at the Germantown First Church of God located at 760 Farmersville Pike, Germantown, OH 45327. Visitation will be held on April 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. A graveside service will take place at Germantown Union Cemetery immediately following.
Kirk will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit and the love he shared will remain in the hearts of many.
