Freeze, Norman J., age 74 of Germantown passed away November 20, 2016. He was born in Troy, OH to the late George and Helen (Dye) Freeze. Norm graduated from Tipp City High School and then went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Columbus, OH. He worked at Hauer Music and Lazy Boy for many years. Norm was very involved in the Germantown community, he was on the Germantown Rescue Squad for over 25 years, worked part time as a German Township Police officer, attended the First Church of God, and he always looked forward to his role in the Germantown Rescue Squad Musicals. Norm worked at Valley View schools and was very involved with the Athletic Boosters and the Band Boosters. He was also a class advisor, the band and choir director, and he wrote the school fight song “Pride in our Colors”. After retirement, he continued his involvement by filming the Valley View football games and directing the alumni band. He is survived by his wife Polly (Michael) Freeze, and 2 sons Ronald and Darren Freeze. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 3:00-6:00PM at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home in Germantown, OH. The funeral services are being privately held.
