Hoffman, Olive Bell, known as O.B., of Grove City, OH passed away in her sleep on January 24, 2022 at the age of 88. She was born in Marietta, OH to the late Robert Hildreth and Emma Kate Turley. She graduated from Central High School in 1951 where she met her high school sweetheart, Paul Finney. They settled in Germantown, OH where they raised their five children. Olive had a strong faith in God, loved her family, music, and children. Olive was very involved in St. John's United Church of Christ in Germantown where she taught Sunday School, was a pianist for the church and children's programs, sang in the choir, bell choir, as well as a member of the consistory. Olive was instrumental in the early success of Love Is A Hug Day Care & Preschool as well as moving it's locations to St. John's UCC in Germantown and was the director there for many years. She was also a member of Sweet Adeline, the Mother's Singers and participated in the many annual Rescue Squad shows. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Finney, and husband John Chandler, along with brothers Robert, David and Carl Hildreth, and her step-son Dan Hoffman. Olive is survived by her husband Gerald Hoffman, sons David (Carol) Finney, Jerry (Jackie) Finney, Jeff (Missi) Finney, daughters Barbara (Jim) Thomas, Kathy (Ed) Hinkle, step-sons Greg (Brenda) Hoffman, John (Sarah) Hoffman, step-daughters Margie (Keith) Pettibone, Margo Hoffman, brothers George (Barb) Hildreth, Paul (Diane) Hildreth, sisters Carolyn Hughes, Millie McKitrick, Dotti Hildreth, sisters in law Beth and Sue Hildreth, 12 beloved grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Visitation will be at St. John's United Church of Christ, 201 W Market St. Germantown, OH on Sunday, January 30, 2022 12:00-1:00pm followed by a memorial service beginning at 1:00PM. Please note that masks are required for all of those in attendance. Those who wish to remember Olive in a special way, please consider donations to the St. John's UCC Memorial Fund in memory of Olive.
