It is with great joy that we announce the peaceful passing of Paul Daniel Running Horse Slone on June 11, 2023, at the age of 61. Paul was not afraid of moving on to his next existence, and he didn't want people to be sad at his passing. Paul was born on April 4, 1962, in Troy, OH to Ivan Junior Slone and Mildred Irene Snyder. He graduated from Piqua High School in 1982.
Paul was a kind and loving person who accepted everyone for who they were. He had an infectious personality that touched the hearts of many. Paul was always willing to lend a helping hand and support those in need. He was passionate about Native American ways, culture, and history and loved dinosaurs while learning about the universe. Sunflowers and Indian corn held a special place in his heart.
Paul was an avid cross-stitcher for 40 years. The beauty he created with thread was a testament to his patience and talent. He also loved learning, education, knowledge and had a thirst for it that could not be quenched.
Paul is survived by his brother Raymond (Evelyn) Burgess, sister Betty (Terry) Grise, brothers Philip Slone and Tony Slone, step sisters Charlene and Vanessa Shephard, and Diane Slone, nephews Timothy Burgess and Eddie Burgess, nieces Christina Hawes and Danielle Woodrum, great nephews Steffen Burgess and Jackson and Mason Woodrum, as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Junior Slone and Mildred Irene Snyder, as well as his sisters Ruth Ann Burgess and Mary Lou Slone along with his step-brother David Slone.
The memories of Paul will remain forever with all who knew him. His death has left a gaping hole that can't be filled - but we are grateful for having had him in our lives.
Rest in peace, dear Paul.
