Trigg, Phyllis Ann Martz..age 79 of Miamisburg, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012. Phyllis was born in Germantown, Ohio, the daughter of the late Arthur L. Martz and Ida Velma (Smallwood) Martz. She was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Germantown and a lifelong member of Park Lake Presbyterian Church, Orlando, FL where she resided for most of her adult life. Phyllis was a graduate of Germantown High School, University of Central Florida, and Stetson University. Earning advanced degrees, she pursued a fulfilling teaching career in Business Education as well as her life-long, professional work and devotion as an accomplished musician. A beloved wife and mother, she was exceptionally gifted, and her many talents and abilities wonderfully influenced & touched the lives of those who knew her. Phyllis’s deep commitment to her faith was most evident in her remarkable and generous contributions to the church through music, teaching and service to others. In addition to her parents and sister, Helen Bussard, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Cushman. She is survived by daughter Rebecca Al-Hattab (Bashier) of Boynton Beach, FL, Deborah Varga (Richard) of Highland, MD, David Trigg (Rosanna) of New York City, NY, Malcolm Trigg (Margaret) of Fern Park, FL., grandchildren Darren (Pamela) Abadi, Andrew Ernest Al-Hattab, Kathryn Varga, and great-granddaughter Sahara Abadi as well as brother in law John Trigg, the Bussard families of Dayton and Germantown, and life-long friends Marion Lowrie Major and Jean Van Brackle of FL. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Arpp & Root Funeral Home Germantown, Pastor Interim D. Houston Hall officiating. Burial Germantown Union Cemetery.
