Compton, Reginald D. "Gunny", age 65 of Germantown passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends at Lakeside Manor on January 31, 2020. He was born in Middletown, OH to the late Reginald and Clara (Conrad) Compton and graduated from Garfield High School in Hamilton, OH. After high school Gunny spent 21 years serving in the U.S. Marines and retired as a Gunnery Sgt. Gunny was a fun, loving and happy man who didn't know a stranger, he loved dancing, going to Miami Valley Gaming, and spending time with his grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers, David and Gary. He is survived by his daughters Carmey Compton, Kristina (Scott) Pagac, Melissa Wyatt, Jon Wyatt, grandchildren Ashleigh and Daniel Donathan, Ethan Pagac, Skyler Engle, Bella and Lillian Wyatt, his dear friends Tim (Lisa) Ahlgren, Mike Emch and marine brothers and sisters, relatives and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to any the Dayton Fisher House or any Veterans Association in memory of Gunny. There will be a graveside committal service at Dayton National Cemetery on July 3, 2020 at 9:00am. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Dayton VA Hospice Lakeside Manor and the hospitality from the Dayton VA Fisher House.
