Richard Askins

Richard L. Askins, age 80 of Farmersville, OH passed away peacefully at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties on March 14, 2024. He was born in Dayton, OH to the late Lester and Bernice (Skinner) Askins and attended Miamisburg High School. Richard loved working on the family farm with his father and continued that throughout most of his life while also working other jobs and retiring from St. Leonards. Richard was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Germantown and was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Bonnie Askins and his sister Carol Myers. He is survived by his nieces Debbie (Mark) Newsad and Sharon (Shawn) Fenton, his lifetime friend Ronnie Barnhart and neighbors Mark Deitch and Marita Howell. The family will receive friends at the Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30am, funeral services will begin at 10:30am with Pastor Mark Anthony officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Miamisburg. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties, or Farmersville Fire and Rescue.
