Robert "Bob" Kinney

Robert Allen Kinney "Bob", age 76 of Germantown, OH passed away on November 8, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital after a brief illness. Bob was born in Alton, IL to the late Albert and Darlene (Bowles) Kinney and was a veteran of the US Army. Bob had many odd jobs early in life such as working on the railroad, and at a gas station. Eventually he settled into working as an insurance agent at Woodman Insurance in Illinois, then was an agent for Nationwide Insurance for many years before owning and operating Robert (Bob) Kinney Insurance on Heincke Rd. in Miamisburg as an independent agent for nearly 20 years. Throughout his life, Bob attended and was a member of numerous First Church of God's, he also was a longtime member of the Moose and VFW in Miamisburg, and a member and treasurer for the Miamisburg Eagles. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his half brother, Richard Scates. Bob is survived by his daughter Melinda Kinney, grandchildren Callista Kinney, Karina Cofield, Kaydence and Calix Kinney, daughter Mindy File and grandchildren Courtney Hatrupee and A. J. Gaylord, as well as 5 great grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 4-5pm, with military honors beginning at 5pm and a memorial service to follow at the Arpp, Root and Carter Funeral Home, 29 N Main St. Germantown OH 45327.
