Ronald Bowman

Ronald K. Bowman, age 79 of Lebanon, OH died Monday May 17, 2021. He was born at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH on October 24, 1941 to the late George K. and Mary Alice (Shaffer) Bowman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson Nicholas Michael Squier on July 5, 1991, and his brother-in-law, Rene (Butch) Harper on January 25, 2021.

Ronnie/Ron is survived by his wife of 58 3/4 years, Elaine. His daughters Mariann Squier, Ronda (Chuck) McCoy, grandchildren Heather Jackson, Christopher Sallie, Matthew Squier, Zachary Squier, Jordan Squier, great granddaughter Neveah Sallie, his brother Tom (Dottie) Bowman, sisters Kathy Harper, Becky Bowman (Mark Charles), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and truest long-time friend Richard Miller (their friendship began in the fourth grade!).

He was a 1959 graduate of Germantown High School and received his BA degree from Urbana University. He started his career with Armco Steel in 1963 in their Metal Products Division and worked in various departments throughout that division. In 2004 he retired from Steelox Systems, Inc.

One of his greatest joys was being outside, being with God and nature as well as either on his own property or working in the yard, etc., or of course, on a golf course! He played softball for many years, bowled in different leagues; however, his most favorite sport was golf, both playing and watching. He had great plans with many friends after retiring, but God had different plans for many of them. The last two years he only played golf three times.

There will be a Celebration of Life service on Friday, June 4, 2021 beginning at 11:00am at Christ Church United Methodist, 700 South Marshall Rd. Middletown, OH 45044 with Rev. Wynston Dixon officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00am. After the service, beginning at 12:00 there will be a luncheon served for those in attendance.

1) Wearing a mask is a personal preference, you may choose to do so or not to do so.

2) In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations in Ronnie/Ron's memory to Christ Church, or to any pet rescue, kidney, heart or lung association/foundation.

3) The service will be "LIVE STREAMED" as we know some will not be able to attend. This will be done through CHRIST CHURCH UM (adding Middletown to the search will narrow the results). the LIVE STREAMING will start just before 11:00am to give those watching time to tune in. If you are unable to watch live, it will be posted to the page for future viewing.
