Rowena Gisewite

Gisewite, Rowena E., age 86 of Farmersville, OH passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8th, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born in Farmersville, OH to the late John and Cretus (Wegley) Slyder and attended Jefferson High School. Rowena worked in the cafeteria at Valley View High School, was a member of Slifer's Presbyterian Church where she volunteered for every dinner or social event she could, she avidly studied her bible, and loved flowers and gardening. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother and 5 sisters. Rowena is survived by her husband of 68 years, Harry Gisewite, her children Rick (Linda) Gisewite, Randy Gisewite, Karen Riley (Matt Jennings), Kelly (Greg) Moseley, grandchildren Ty Colter, Kayla Long, Logan and Mason Riley, Sophy Moseley, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and her dear friend FayAnn Martin. Rowena was known as the sweetest, most selfless person to everyone who knew her. To honor her love of bright colors, the family would love to see everyone wear something bright for her Celebration of Life, which will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 12:30PM at Slifer's Presbyterian Church, 2999 S. Clayton Rd., Farmersville, Ohio. Interment immediately following at Holp Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church beginning at 10:00AM.
