Ruth "Darlene" Wight, age 80, formerly of Springfield, OH passed away peacefully at Sycamore Glen on October 11, 2020. She was born in Springfield, OH to the late Carl and Louella (Atwell) Johnson and retired from WPAFB after over 20 years as the Chief, Readiness & Disaster Preparedness Officer. After her retirement from WPAFB, Darlene was involved with the Clark County Sheriff's office along with other law enforcement agencies and was honored a few years ago at a luncheon by Sheriff Kelly and the Miami Valley Crimestoppers as "citizen of the year". Darlene was a dedicated employee and loved her job, she enjoyed traveling when time allowed, loved eagles and collected eagle figurines, was a great mother who took care of and loved her boys. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Rogers. She is survived by her sons Greg Wight and Andrew Wight, her grandchildren Christina, Patrick, Kelsey and Nievik Wight, her nieces Pam Fugett and Patsy Dole as well as numerous extended family members and friends. There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 16, 2020 at 10:00am at the Enon Cemetery on Dayton Springfield Rd., Springfield OH with Pastor Todd Smith officiating.
