Steven Anderson

Anderson, Steven R., age 64 of Germantown passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016.  He was born to the late Charles and Virginia (Carter) Anderson in Greenville, OH.  Steve retired from Valley View Schools after 37 years of service.  During his 37 years in education he spent various years coaching sports such as basketball and football at the junior high, as well as an assistant football coach at the high school, a junior varsity basketball coach, and he was the longest tenured boys basketball coach at Valley View.  Along with coaching, his professional teaching achievements throughout his career included math, physical education, Middle School dean of Students, Middle School Assistant Principal, and finishing up his career as the High School principal from 2002-2011.  Steve was dedicated to the school, students, and staff as well as his family and friends.  Steve was more than a teacher and an educator, he was a friend to many and  will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Heather Anderson Land in 2008 and his sister Bev Anderson.  He is survived by his wife Lisa (Lavey) Anderson, his son Jeremy (Heather) Anderson and his two granddaughters Halle and Jacey Anderson, his brothers Jeff (Bev) Anderson and Jan Christian.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 at St. John's United Church of Christ, 201 W. Market St. Germantown at 11:00am with John Hunn officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8pm at Valley View High School, 6027 Farmersville Pike, Germantown.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heather Anderson-Land Memorial Scholarship Fund.
