Violet W. Rhoades, 92, of Germantown, Ohio passed away Wednesday April 16, 2014] at Kingston Nursing Home in Miamisburg, Ohio.
She was born February 17, 1922 in Germantown to the late Henry and Bertha Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister and late husband of 51 years, Floyd B. Rhoades.
She is survived by her sons, Floyd Jr. (Sandra) of Indian Wells, CA and Darrell of Germantown; her 5 grandchildren, Kevin (Betty) Rhoades of Germantown, Melissa Ekey of Baltimore, MD; Daren (Dahna) Rhoades of Laguna Hills, CA; Dwayne (Jennifer) Rhoades of Brookville and Rebecca Rhoades of Indian Wells, CA. She has nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Violet lived in Germantown her entire life and drove a school bus for Germantown and Valley View for 27 years, while working with her husband conducting auctions throughout Southern Ohio for over 50 years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and good friend to all.
She was the oldest surviving member of Slifers Presbyterian Church in Farmersville, where her visitation and funeral service will take place. The family will receive friends at
the Church prior to the service on Saturday April 19, 2014 from 2 P.M to 4:00 P.M. with
services following. Interment will be at Holp Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been made through Arpp and Root Funeral Home in Germantown. Pastor, Angela Schenck of Slifers Church will be conducting the services.
In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to the Slifers Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of Dayton.
